HISTORY

Flavor Begins with Cumhuriyet!

Our story begins in the mid-1800s with sucuk production in a small workshop, led by our great-grandfather, Butcher Ahmet. In 1920, the foundations of Cumhuriyet Butcher were laid in Afyonkarahisar.

1920 The foundations of Cumhuriyet Butchery were laid in Afyonkarahisar. The first steps of mastery, labor, and trust… A great culinary heritage born from a butcher shop. 1930 The years when we met our customers in our first shop opened in the Hal Bazaar and began reaching dining tables… Cumhuriyet Butchery met with our traditional flavor in the heart of Afyon. 1940 The years when we kneaded family tradition with hard work... A symbol of brotherhood, mastery, and dedication. The times when Ömer and Ahmet Kocasaban blended quality with family values. 1950 He became a name recognized throughout Turkey for his mastery. Guests from all over the country would come to buy their meat and sucuk from him 1960 He inspired the people of Afyon with his knowledge and labor. His vision helped grow not only our brand, but also the city of Afyon. He carried Cumhuriyet Sucukları to tables all across Turkey. In front of our shop in the Hal Bazaar stood a master who devoted his heart to his profession — a symbol of labor, knowledge, and production, who contributed to the development of his region: Ömer Kocasaban. 1970 In the Afyonkarahisar of the 1970s, production in this shop would start before sunrise. Butcher Ahmet Kocasaban, Ömer Kocasaban, and their team meticulously continued the tradition they inherited from their grandfathers. All equipment used in those years is preserved today in the Sucuk Museum. This photograph is a symbol of our brand's steady journey from the past to the present. 1980 This is the first integrated production facility of Cumhuriyet Sucukları. The foundations of our brand were laid here with its slaughterhouse and the production of sucuk, pastırma, and kavurma. This journey, born from a small workshop, has turned into a culinary heritage spreading across Turkey. Our first production facilities are still our source of inspiration today. 1990 This photograph tells the story of labor that transcends time. While meat was transformed into flavor in the hands of masters in our first factory, today all items from this period carry the labor of the past to the future in our museum. 2000 Supporting our reliability with scientific processes, our products prepared by expert hands in the early 2000s were examined in our modern laboratories to ensure hygiene and quality control standards.
